Use HCHO column and vertical profiles to enhance understanding of model biases in surface ozone and its temperature dependence across the contiguous United States (CONUS)

HCHO column is dominated by wildfires in Alaska summer fire seasons.

Wildfire is the major source of air pollution in Alaska summer fire seasons. We present an observation-based formula to estimate surface PM_2.5 from satellite AOD.

HCHO diurnal cycle is driven by photochemical production and loss.

Tianlang Zhao, a PhD candidate at University of Alaska Fairbanks, studying the fate and transport of air pollutants in lower troposphere, using high resolution chemical transport model (CTM), satellite and ground-based spectrometer network.
